FAQs

The questions contractors ask before they trust us with a tender.

Straight answers, including the ones consultants usually dodge, what it costs, who owns the work, and why nobody honest guarantees a win.

What exactly does a bid management firm do?

Everything between "a tender just dropped" and "the submission is lodged", and the work after. We make the go / no-go call with you, map the evaluation criteria, write every returnable, build the estimate and BOQ, assemble compliance suites and management plans, design the document, lodge it through the portal, and coach you for evaluation presentations. See Services for the full breakdown.

Do you write the tender, or do we?

We do, with structured input from your people. A 90-minute methodology workshop with your PM and site supervisor gives us what we need; you review drafts, not blank pages. Your team's time investment is hours per tender, not weeks.

What does it cost?

Every engagement is a fixed, written fee agreed before work starts. A single methodology review is a different engagement to a full defence panel bid, so scope sets the number. No hourly bill creep, no surprises after you've committed. The first tender review is free, and you can see our prices on the pricing page after a few quick questions.

Do you guarantee we'll win?

No, and be wary of anyone who does. Award decisions rest with the procurement authority. What we control is everything scoreable: compliance, methodology, programme, social procurement, presentation. Our go / no-go discipline also means we'll tell you when a tender isn't worth entering, before you spend a dollar on it.

How fast can you turn a tender around?

Send it today and you'll have a go / no-go recommendation and portal check within 24 hours. Full submissions depend on scope, but surge support exists precisely for stacked deadlines, tell us the closing date first and we'll tell you on the spot if it's doable.

Which sectors do you work in?

Civil & infrastructure, facility management and defence, across council, state, federal and prime-contractor procurement. Each sector is scored differently, and we write to each framework. See Industries.

Do you only work with Melbourne businesses?

No. Melbourne is our office; the work is national, clients in every state, tenders lodged through every portal. Evaluation panels never meet you in person, and we travel for presentations when it matters. See Service Areas.

We already have an estimator. Why do we need you?

Keep the estimator, they price the job; we win the right to do it. Non-price criteria commonly decide 30–50% of a civil tender's score, and that's not what an estimator is paid to write. We also take the schedules and returnables off their desk so pricing gets their full attention.

Who owns the documents you produce?

On full payment you're licensed to use every deliverable for its intended purpose, and the bid library we build (CVs, case studies, capability statements) keeps working for you on every future tender. Details are in our Terms & Conditions.

Can you fix a tender we've already drafted?

Yes, a bid review is one of the most common ways clients start with us. We score your draft against the published evaluation criteria the way the panel will, and tell you exactly where the points are leaking.

Do you handle grants and awards too?

Yes. Grant applications and industry award submissions are scored documents judged against published criteria, the same discipline, different referees.
