The short version

Everything free on this website is general information. It is not advice, it is not tailored to you, and it is not a substitute for a qualified professional. Use it as a starting point, then do your own work.

1. General information only

Our guides, blog articles, newsletters, templates, checklists, scorecards, tools and downloadable documents are published for general information. They do not take account of your business, your workforce, your site, your contract, or the tender you are bidding.

Nothing on this website is:

  • legal advice
  • work health and safety advice
  • environmental or engineering advice
  • financial, accounting, tax or insurance advice
  • a certification of compliance with any standard, code or law

If you need any of those, engage someone qualified and licensed to give it.

2. Our tender document templates

Our templates are structures, prompts and scoring guidance. They are deliberately incomplete. They are designed to be filled in with how your business actually operates.

A template is not a management system. Downloading a work health and safety management plan template does not give your business a work health and safety management system, does not discharge any duty you hold under work health and safety law, and does not make you compliant with anything.

Specifically:

  • Work health and safety. Duties under the WHS Act and Regulations in your state are yours and cannot be discharged by a document. Have any WHS plan reviewed by a competent person before you rely on it, on site or in a tender
  • Environmental. Obligations arise under environment protection legislation, planning permits and licence conditions specific to your site. Our template cannot identify those for you
  • Modern slavery, social procurement and local jobs. Reporting and compliance obligations differ by jurisdiction, turnover and contract value. Verify what applies to you
  • Chain of responsibility, traffic management, and anything requiring a licence or accreditation. Our material does not substitute for the accreditation
  • Certification. Where a tender requires ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 or similar, a plan document does not satisfy that requirement. You need the certification

You are responsible for what you submit in your own tender, and for what you implement on your own site.

3. The tender cost estimator

The estimator produces an indicative range based on the answers you give it.

It is not a quote, an offer, or a fixed price. It does not create any obligation on either of us. Actual fees depend on the tender documents, the scope, the closing date and the material you already have, and we confirm them in writing before any work starts.

4. The bid or no bid checker and scorecard

These produce an indicative readiness score from your own self assessment. They are a prompt for thinking, not a decision.

A high score does not mean you should bid, and a low score does not mean you should not. Even a perfect score does not remove the need to read the tender documents and make your own commercial judgement.

5. Our statistics and published figures

Where we publish figures about our own work, such as the number of submissions we have lodged, total contract value pursued, or client retention, those describe our history across many clients over many years.

They are not a prediction about your tender, and they are not a representation that you will achieve a similar result. Every tender is decided by its own evaluation panel on its own criteria.

6. Tender intelligence and market data

Where we publish tender counts, contract values, expiry data or opportunity figures drawn from public sources such as AusTender, that information is compiled from those sources at a point in time. Procurement data changes constantly and sources contain errors.

Always verify an opportunity against the buyer's own published documents before you act on it. Do not rely on our figures as the basis for a bid decision.

7. Currency of information

Procurement rules, legislation, codes of practice, standards and buyer frameworks change. Articles and templates on this website reflect our understanding when they were written and may be out of date by the time you read them. We do not undertake to keep every page current.

8. Third party content and links

We link to buyer portals, associations, regulators and other websites. We do not control them and we are not responsible for their content, accuracy or availability. A link is not an endorsement.

Client names, project names and buyer names appear on this website with permission or because they are already public. They do not imply those organisations endorse us.

9. No engagement, and no professional relationship

Downloading a template, using a tool, reading a guide, subscribing to our newsletter or joining our community does not make you our client and does not create a professional relationship or a duty of care.

We become your consultant when we have both agreed a scope and a fee in writing.

10. To the extent permitted by law

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any loss or damage arising from your reliance on the free information, tools or templates on this website.

Nothing in this disclaimer excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
